Eagle Transport Corporation Announces New Chairman

Herb Evans steps into the role of Chairman at Eagle Transport Corporation after the passing of Eagle’s owner and founder.

With Don Stallings passing on June 9, 2026, Eagle Transport lost its founder, Chairman, and the visionary behind Eagle’s very existence. Stallings started this company with a handful of trucks and the idea that a tank line built on good people could compete with anybody.

Nearly six decades later, Eagle operates 25 terminals up and down the East Coast and into Louisiana and Texas, hauling the products that keep this country running, building on Stallings’ life’s work.

Evans joined the Eagle Transport team 38 years ago and has served in every facet of company operations, working his way into the leadership team, where he served many years as Vice-Chairman.

“I came up through this business, beginning my career in maintenance, moving into dispatch and terminal operations, and working my way into management,” Evans said. “I have spent the last four decades helping build the operation you rely on today. My priorities in this role remain the same as the ones that got us here.”

Beyond his leadership at Eagle Transport, Evans is an active member of many industry organizations and associations, including serving as the 76th Chairman of the Board of National Tank Truck Carriers.

Eagle Transport looks forward to continued growth under Evans’ leadership, building on the foundation laid by almost 60 years of dedication to safe operations, hiring standards, and industry expansion.
