NASHVILLE, N.C. — Jean White has been named the District 7720 Rotarian of the Year, an honor recognizing outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”

White is a member of the Rocky Mount Rotary Club 6200 and was recognized for her dedication to improving the lives of others through community outreach, health education, and volunteer service. Fellow Rotarians praised her passion for helping others, particularly senior adults, and her consistent willingness to step forward wherever there is a need.

District leaders noted that White’s impact extends far beyond Rotary meetings, as she continually works to encourage healthier lifestyles, support community programs, and inspire others through compassion and servant leadership.

“Jean represents the very best of Rotary,” one district leader said during the presentation. “Her heart for people and her commitment to serving her community make her truly deserving of this recognition.”

District 7720 includes Rotary clubs from across eastern North Carolina, with members working together to support local and international service projects. White said she was honored and humbled to receive the award and credited fellow Rotarians for their encouragement and teamwork.

“This award reflects the amazing people I have the privilege to serve alongside,” White said. “You get out of something what you put into it. I've given a lot to Rotary but Rotary has given back to me more than I put into it! Rotary has given me the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others, and that is the greatest reward of all.”
